you still feel stuck

Even though you are showing up, and doing the work

You’ve probably already tried to figure out why you can’t manage your life the way you used to.

Maybe you’ve been in therapy before.
Maybe you’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, did all the momfluencer hacks, and tried to “do the work.”

And it’s not that those things didn’t help at all…

But you’re still here feeling stuck in the same patterns.

You're till overwhelmed, still bone tired,  and still feeling like something isn’t quite right... and you don’t fully understand why.

And for someone like you—someone who’s used to being self-aware and figuring things out—that’s frustrating.

It’s not because you haven’t tried hard enough.

Most of what’s out there—therapy, self-help, even wellness—focuses on one part of the problem, like our thoughts, your emotions, and sometimes your habits.

And while that can help, it often doesn’t go far enough. Because what you’re dealing with isn’t just mental.

It’s showing up in your body, in your wellbeing, in your relationships, in how you move through your life... And when those pieces aren’t supported, no amount of insight or coping tools is going to fully shift things.

So we take a different approach. We don’t just talk about what you’re feeling—we look at what your life and your body actually need.

Because real change doesn’t come from pushing harder or understanding more. It comes from supporting your entire mind, body, and soul in a way that allows things to actually shift.

holistic and integrative therapy can help you:

How does this sound?

understand how your sleep, nourishment, stress, and environment are directly shaping how well you feel and function

stop relying on insight alone and start making changes that your body can actually sustain for long-term wellbeing

work on what’s underneath the pattern—in a root-cause way, not just talk about what’s happening on the surface

approach your healing from multiple angles so things actually shift and last for a while, not just temporarily improve

connect what’s happening in your mind, body, and daily life instead of treating them like separate problems

lasting change starts here

You don’t have to keep trying to figure out how to be well in motherhood all by yourself

Is this only for new moms?

Not at all. While most of the challenges you face start in postpartum, many women move through motherhood for years without support or education for what’s happening. I work with women who are months into postpartum—and women who are several years in—who are still trying to make sense of how much has changed. It’s never “too late” to understand your brain and body, and how your life experiences shape your motherhood and womanhood today.

Do we only focus on the body in this work?

No. Your body is an important part of the work, and that's why we start there—but it’s not the only focus. We’re looking at your whole life: your body, your thoughts, your emotions, your responsibilities, your culture, your society, the systems you live in, and your lived experience. The goal is to understand how all of these pieces are working together—so we’re not just addressing one part of the problem while everything else stays the same.

Do you only work with moms of color?

I specialize in working with women of color because our experiences of motherhood are shaped by culture, community, and systemic stress. But if my approach speaks to you and you feel like this is the right space for your healing, you are welcome here.

I still have questions. Can I talk to someone?

Absolutely. You can send an email to me directly at vanessa@matrescenceincolor.com or DM me on Instagram @matrescenceincolor and I’ll help you figure out if this is the right fit for you. And that's what the free 60-min consultation is for too; so you can ask all the questions you have. You can click here to book a consultation. Zero pressure, just real support.

How is this different from regular talk therapy?

We’re not just focusing on just what you think or feel. We’re also looking at how you’re functioning day to day—your sleep, your energy, your stress, your support, and what your life is actually asking of you. Because all of those things directly impact how you experience life, and how well you feel inside of your life. So instead of trying to “think your way” out of it, we’re working from multiple angles so things can actually shift in many areas of your life at once.

Do I need this if I’m ‘functioning’ and getting everything done?

Many of the women I work with are still showing up, getting things done, and handling their responsibilities. But underneath that, they feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and not like themselves. This work isn’t just about getting things done better—it’s about how your life actually feels while you’re living it. The women I support have worked hard to build the lives they have, and have overcame so much, to then arrive at motherhood and feel like they are completely falling apart, and not enjoying life like they thought they would. Motherhood is hard, yes... but we don't need to continue to accept survival and struggle as the only way to experience life after motherhood. This is your chance to not just survive your days, but thrive too.

How do I know this will actually work for me?

You don’t have to have full certainty for this to work. Most of the women I work with come in feeling unsure, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves—and unsure of what they actually need. This process isn’t about getting it “right” or doing everything perfectly. It’s about slowing things down, looking at what’s actually going on, and helping you start to make sense of your own experience again. Over time, that’s what allows you to feel more confident in yourself, more trusting of your body, and clearer about what you need—without constantly second-guessing.

How do I get started?

The first step is booking a consultation call. We’ll talk through what’s been coming up for you, what kind of support you’re looking for, and whether therapy or coaching makes the most sense. You don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out; that's what I am here for.

I’m already very self-aware, and practice a lot of self-care—will this still help me?

Yes—and many of the women I work with feel the same way. They are go-getters, movers and shakers and so they are not doing nothing. They are actually trying everything they think will help them live well. You already understand yourself. You’ve reflected, processed, and tried to make changes. And here is what I noticed in the 15 years of doing this work, many of us are intellectualizers, and insight alone isn’t always enough to create real, lasting change. This work goes beyond awareness and focuses on what actually needs to shift in your life so things start to feel different.
